The future is now: Embracing technologies to reshape our world

Opinion piece by Dr Emmanuel Kweinor Tetteh, Chemical Engineer and NSTF-South32 Award Winner

Dr Tetteh (see above) highlights how emerging technologies are redefining our world — from green hydrogen and structural battery composites that promise cleaner energy, to next-generation green fertilisers turning waste into wealth, and artificial intelligence (AI) driven tools advancing digital trust. He argues that “TECHNOLOGY” is no longer just a tool but humanity’s most powerful ally in addressing challenges such as climate change, misinformation, and resource insecurity. Dr Tetteh calls for collective action — by researchers, policymakers, and citizens alike — to move beyond admiration of innovation and toward its responsible implementation. The future, he reminds us, is already here; it’s time we embrace it with purpose and vision. Read the opinion piece.
