Dr Emmanuel Kweinor Tetteh is an NRF Y2-rated researcher and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Durban University of Technology (DUT), South Africa. He leads DUT’s Research Focus Area: Green Engineering Research Group (GERG), where his research focuses on water-energy nexus systems, green hydrogen production, renewable energy and storage materials, waste valorisation to energy, green catalysis and magnetic nanomaterials, renewable energy integration, nano- and bio-fertilisers, AI-driven solutions, computational modelling, process optimisation and process engineering, with over a decade of industrial and academic experience. He has been a principal investigator on many competitive research funding projects secured from the National Research Foundation (NRF), Water Research Commission (WRC), and South African National Energy Development Institute (SANEDI).

He currently leads SANEDI-supported initiatives advancing green hydrogen technologies, energy storage solutions, and capacity development to support South Africa's Hydrogen Society Roadmap and the transition to a low-carbon economy. His contributions have been recognised through several prestigious awards, including the NSTF South32 Oscar Award, TW Kambule-NSTF Emerging Researcher Award, NRF Next Generation Award, SANEDI Top Researcher in Energy Research and Development Award, and recognition as an ENI Young Talent Researcher from Africa and IChemE Global Renewable Energy Awards finalist.

Through research, teaching, and international collaborations, Dr Tetteh continues to drive innovation and human-capacity development in sustainable energy systems for Africa and beyond. As a professional member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and the South African Institution of Chemical Engineers (SAIChE), Committee Member of the SAIChE KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Branch, and Academic Member of the Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA), Dr Tetteh actively contributes to chemical engineering advancement, water sustainability, green hydrogen research and excellence, and professional development.
